2023
updated to: the babydolles heart
i finally updated my name to including the "e" at the end of babydolle, a decision that i had contemplated
for well over a year
*description and art to be updated once year reaches it end*
2022
name remained consistent from the previous year
as a result of circumstances i didn't get to traditionally paint personal illustrations this year, but that ended up
being beneficial for me since i finally began to improve with my digital painting techniques and figuring the best ways to replicate my traditional methods in a digital manner
2021
previously was: the babydolls heart
finally added the "the" to the front of my usernames as i liked the emphasis it brought to the name,
i was gifted a drawing tablet this year so began to practice digital painting as a means to create concept art for my projects so i could save my traditional materials as i was starting to run lower on supplies
2020
previously was: babydoll heart
the very beginning of referring myself as "babydoll heart", though for a brief moment in the beginning
it was "dollbaby heart" because i wasn't sure which combination i preferred
this was the first year i really began to experiment with using props and creating scenes in my illustrations, as well as taking more influence from antique & vintage greeting card illustrations
2019
previously was: Plushie Moth Doll
i began to paint again after an extensive period of not touching my watercolours at all
this was also a very experimental year as i used a new art style that was easier to draw quickly
today i affectionally refer to this style as my "bug style" for its large eyes and sharp angled limbs
2018
previously was: Little Butterfly
this was the first year i really began to allow myself to draw the art that i wanted to draw,
rather than drawing what i thought would get me "popular"
notably though, i didn't exactly do much painting this year despite having all the materials,
its just that i had a refound love of using ballpoint pens to create eerie artworks
